Sodium Hyaluronate Eye Drops

Hyaluronan is a natural biopolymer with high viscosity, fluidity, and exceptional hydrophilic and lubricating properties.

Hyaluronans' properties also make it an ideal solution for ophthalmic preparations, including as a treatment for Dry Eye Syndrome (DES).

It can promote wound healing by improving the bioavailability of drugs and reducing drug irritation.

Eye drops that contain hyaluronan include Hialid Eye Drops and Visine Eye Drops.

Ophthalmic Surgery

Hyaluronan is widely used in ophthalmic surgery because of its high viscoelastic, biocompatibility, chemical inertness, transparency and stability. During surgery, it can be applied to the surface of the eye tissue and surgical equipment to prevent damage and provide a clear surgical field. It can neutralize the positive charge of the lens surface and therefore reduces any inflammation, while also removing free radicals which may cause cell damage. Furthermore, it can prevent bleeding. Hyaluronan is also frequently used in cataract surgery, intraocular lens implantation, retinal detachment surgery, corneal transplant surgery, retina surgery, trabeculectomy, vitrectomy and traumatic eye surgery.

There are a range of ophthalmic surgical products that use hyaluronan as the active ingredient. These include, Healon, Vitrax, Amvisc, Amivisc Plus, Opegan and Hylan G-F20. ALB provide high quality pure Sodium Hyaluronate powder, pharmaceutical and medical grade.
